Dualtron Compact

This scooter, the Dualtron Compact, met what I’ve been seeking in a scooter for a very long time; a scooter designed with low maintenance in mind complimented with sufficient speed and range. The low maintenance aspect of this scooter, is executed through the use of solid tires, Dualtron’s signature rubber/cartridge suspension system, and electronic and drum-braking system. The speed of the scooter fluctuates between 39-42 depending on road and weather conditions. The max range advertised, corresponds to when the scooter is used at its lowest speed setting, on eco, and on single-motor. When the scooter is used continuously from a full charge, at its max speed setting, turbo on, with dual motors, the range is significantly reduced down to around 25-27mi. Some minor inconveniences about this scooter is the lack of a bright visible headlight to show that a scooter is approaching, and the need to remove both the front and rear motors just to fasten the fender screws. The fenders should have been screwed on top of the swing arms instead of to the insides. These inconveniences are easily manageable to people with a fair amount of patience as was in my case. The hub motors are split rim in case the tires need to be swapped due to wear. The ride can be rough; depending on road road conditions; but that is expected with solid tires. This scooter is for the mindful, alert, and low-maintenance seeking. This scooter is truly the winner of reliable commuter scooters; not performance.
